Board Application

The Breast Cancer Fund of Ohio is seeking passionate people throughout the state who are willing to donate their talents, energy, and time to support breast cancer patients throughout Ohio.

Being a member of the Breast Cancer Fund of Ohio Board of Director provides you with a stellar opportunity to fulfill the mission of the organization: to help Ohio breast cancer patients survive the hardships of cancer treatments by providing emergency, temporary financial assistance.

Formed by survivors in 2005, the Breast Cancer Fund of Ohio distributes funds from the sale of Ohio's Breast Cancer Awareness License Plate to organizations around Ohio for emergency financial assistance to breast cancer patients. Breast cancer will not be cured and research cannot advance unless Ohioans have access to quality, affordable breast screening, diagnosis, treatment and follow up care and support services.

The following are our Core Values regarding access to quality breast health care and support services:

The Board of Directors forwards the mission of the Breast Cancer Fund of Ohio: to help Ohio breast cancer patients survive the hardships of cancer treatments by providing emergency, temporary financial assistance.

Each of the Breast Cancer Fund of Ohio Directors agrees to fulfill the following:

1. Financially supports Breast Cancer Fund of Ohio via purchase of a license plate or a donation to the Breast Cancer Fund of Ohio fund and through participation in Breast Cancer Fund of Ohio fundraising activities.

2. Attends 3 of the 4 quarterly Board meetings and the Annual Board meeting. Any overnight expenses to all Breast Cancer Fund of Ohio Board meetings are the responsibility of the Board member. Mileage can be reimbursed for meeting attendance, as funds permit.

3. Actively participates on 1 or more Committees.

4. Volunteers for Breast Cancer Fund of Ohio events, duties, and projects and completes them on time.

5. Stays informed about committee matters, prepares for meetings, reviews and comments on minutes and reports.

6. Actively participates in the committee’s annual evaluation and planning efforts.

7. Signs conflict of interest document

8. Commits to reading/replying to all electronic communications regarding Breast Cancer Fund of Ohio
